Kuwait loses 4-2 to Italy in Futsal Continental Cup

KUWAIT, Oct 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait lost to Italy 4-2 in their debut match of the Futsal Continental Cup on Thursday, which is being sponsored by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Despite the loss, Kuwait played well and was up 2-1 in the first half, but Euro Futsal champions the Gli Azzurri made a great comeback in the second half.
Italy's Massimo De Luca scored a hat-trick, while Kuwait lost key player, Hamad Haya, who was sent off.
Kuwait's scorers were Abdulrahman Al-Taweel and Ahmad Al-Farsi, while the Italian side's first goal was scored by Mario Canel.
In others earlier matches, Egypt lost to Argentina, 1-6, while Czech Republic won over Guatemala 6-2, and Brazil defeated Asian Futsal champions, Japan, 1-0.
The teams participating in the tournament include Brazil, Argentina, Guatemala, Egypt, Japan, Italy, the Czech Republic and hosts Kuwait.
