KUWAIT, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- The committee for His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah's informatics prize announced Tuesday that it will honor the inventor of the digital camera Steven J. Sasson.
A press release by the committee said that Sasson was chosen for his innovative device which he created in 1975. The digital camera helped in revolutionizing modern technology from smartphones to laptops, and other devices.
Sasson's invention had many applications with the digital camera being used for education, surgery, space exploration and so on.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will honor Sasson during an award ceremony next December. (end)
