Ankara, PKK agree on roadmap for peace - HDP official

ANKARA, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- The Turkish government has offered the People's Democratic Party (HDP) part of the peace roadmap with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), deputy head of the HDP parliamentary group, Pervin Buldan has said.
The Cihan News Agency quoted Buldan on Friday as saying that an HDP delegation would leave by the end of the week to the PKK headquarters in the Kandil Mountains in Iraq, to have consultations with party leaders.
On October 21 the delegation will visit Abdullah Ocalan, the PKK leader serving life sentence on Imrali Island in the Sea of Marmara, Buldan said.
She noted that an agreement had been concluded between Ankara and Ocalan and that the delegation would carry the six-phase part of the roadmap to Kandil Mountains.
Buldan stressed that parties to visit Ocalan must include representatives from the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK). She also called for allowing PKK's members from Kandil Mountains to meet Ocalan.
Meanwhile, Development Party (AKP) Deputy Chair Besir Atalay, also spokesman for the government, expected that activities related to peace to increase over the coming days.
He added in a press statement that they had accomplished a huge part of the roadmap and that discussions are being held with relevant parties. (end) rs.msa
