BRUSSELS, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary GeneraI Anders Fogh Rsmussen Friday said he fully respect the choice that the people of Scotland have made in yesterday's referendum.
"I welcome Prime Minister Cameron's statement that the United Kingdom will go forward as a united country," he said in a statement.
"The United Kingdom is a founding member of NATO, and I am confident that the United Kingdom will continue to play a leading role to keep our Alliance strong," added the NATO chief.
Scotland voted to stay in the United Kingdom after, the "No" side won with 2,001,926 votes over 1,617,989 for "Yes". (end)
