Lebanese army receives US military supplies

BEIRUT, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese Army announced Thursday it received a shipment of weapons and ammunition from the United States as part of the US assistance program for the army.
The delivery of the shipment took place at Rafiq Al-Hariri Airport with the attendance of senior officials from the Lebanese army and the US defense cooperation office in Lebanon, the army said in a statement.
In past months, the US handed over various weapons and ammunition to the Lebanese army and security forces in the framework of cooperation in the combat against terrorism with a view to stabilizing the country. (end) wsm.ma
