Syrian opposition forces fire rockets into Damascus

AMMAN, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- The Syrian opposition forces said on Thursday that "Ajnad Al-Sham" (soldiers of the Levant) group has been launching rocket attacks on several districts in the capital city of Damascus for the third consecutive day.
The rockets hit in Abo Romana, Al-Maza, Al-Maliki, and in the vicinity of the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus, a statement by the opposition said without elaborating on casualties.
A number of people were killed or injured yesterday as result of rocket and mortar attacks on the neighborhoods of Al-Adawia, Al-Mazraa, Ain Al-Karsh, Al-Sha'alan, Al-Qasoor and Al-Abbasin.
On Tuesday, the Islamic Union said Ajnad Al-Sham said they started using locally-produced rockets in their joint operation against the regime's security and military checkpoints in and around Damascus. (end) tk.mb
