Meeting of International Tennis Federation kicks off

DUBAI, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- The meeting of International Tennis Federation (ITF) kicked off here Thursday for the first time in the Middle East region.
The meeting is attended by ITF President Francesco Ricci, heads of tennis federations of continents and representatives of member states in the ITF, including the head of both Kuwait and Arab Tennis Federation Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
In his opening speech, Sheikh Hashr bin Maktoum, the UAE Tennis Federation president, welcomed the ITF president and heads of tennis federations of continents.
Participants exchanged views on tennis game and the ways of developing it and discussed several topics on the agenda.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the draw of Davis Cup, which is seen as the most important championship for teams, was made.
The draw will be closely followed up by countries to know their rivals in the competition. (end) hny.hm
