Explosion in N. Sinai kills policeman

CAIRO, Sept 16 (KUNA) -- A policeman was killed while five others were injured when an explosion occurred near their armored vehicle in northern Sinai, said a source Tuesday.
A security source told the Middle East News Agency (MENA) that a joint army-police convoy was traversing the Rafah-Arish road when an explosive device was detonated near one of the convoy's vehicles.
The attack resulted in casualties, said the source, noting that the injured policemen were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Security forces were sent to the area to pursue those responsible for the attack, it added. (end) rg.gta
