Qatar, Turkey to set up strategic cooperation body

DOHA, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- Qatar and Turkey have agreed to create a high-level strategic cooperation council to be chaired by both sides' leaders.
The step was taken during a meeting between Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyieb Erdogan here on Monday, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The planned joint council is primarily intended to develop and promote cooperative relations between Qatar and Turkey and to follow up issues of mutual interest in all fields, the QNA said.
The talks were attended by Qatari Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Turkish leader's accompanying delegation. (end) nnd.mt
