Honoring His Highness the Amir honor, pride for Kuwaitis - ambassadors

CAPITALS, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti ambassadors in world countries have applauded the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and naming of His Highness the Amir a humanitarian leader and Kuwait a humanitarian center.
   Honoring His Highness the Amir is "honor and pride to us all", said Kuwait's Ambassador  to Bahrain, Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah during a reception for Kuwaiti students in the Kingdom.
   He added that the honoring comes in recognition from the international community of the role by Kuwait and His Highness the Amir in global charity and humanitarian work. It also manifests appreciation of the Kuwaiti humanitarian initiatives and contributions to the afflicted people.
   The honoring is a merited recognition to an ample career of humanitarian work of His Highness the Amir, who has been leading efforts to allay people's sufferings in various parts of the world, Kuwait's Ambassador to France Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed said.
   He added that His Highness the Amir was a major contributor to establishing the Islamic heritage pavilion at the Louvre Museum, when he donated five million euros for the cultural section.
   His Highness the Amir also offered three millions euros to the Arab World Institute in the French capital, motivated by his belief in the role it played for boosting intercultural dialogue, Ambassador Al-Saeed said.
   His Highness the Amir also presented euro 2.7 million to the UNESCO in support of the cultural message of the organization.
   For his part, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Moscow Abdulaziz Ahmad Al-Adwani, told KUNA that honoring His Highness the Amir is a source of pride for each and every Kuwaiti.
   This unprecedented honoring recognizes the leading humanitarian role by Kuwait, prompted by a belief that all people have the right to live with dignity, regardless of ethnicity, race or faith.
   This rare UN honoring appreciates the humanitarian role by His Highness the Amir who has put Kuwait among top world donors, offering aid to countries affected by catastrophes and conflicts, from a pure humanitarian view, Kuwait Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Delegate to the African Union Rashed Al-Hajri, said.
   Kuwait's Ambassador to Qatar Meteb Saleh Al-Mutotah, said that the UN honoring is merited, for Kuwait's efforts, both people and leadership, extending aid and relief to affected people.
   Over the past decades, His Highness the Amir has been known for constructive efforts to provide humanitarian aid as well as cementing ties with the world, Al-Mutotah told KUNA.
   He referred to the initiatives His Highness the Amir has adopted since he became at the helm, for settling rows and differences.
   The UN honoring comes in appreciation of His Highness the Amir's non-stop support to humanitarian work for humanity, Kuwait's Ambassador to Morocco, Shamlan Abdulaziz Al-Roumi.
   Not only is this a source pride to Kuwaitis, but to the Arabs and Muslims, and Kuwait lovers everywhere. (end)
