KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait-Vietnamese Parliamentary Friendship Committee held two meetings Monday with Chairman of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group Nguyen Xuan Son and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labor Nguyen Thanh Hoa to discuss bilateral cooperation.
Head of the committee MP Khalil Abdullah told KUNA via a telephone conversation that Vietnam expressed a great desire to develop bilateral ties in energy and petroleum fields.
Head of the Vietnamese group stressed that there are existing petroleum projects in his country that Kuwaitis would be given a priority to invest in, especially in oil tankers.
He pointed out to the importance of strengthening bilateral ties by eliminating all obstacles, stressing to the "importance of creating jobs and making investments as well as taking advantage of opportunities provided by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development." The committee held another meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labour who in turn stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of labor.
The Vietnamese official suggested that his ministry and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to hold meetings so that the latter would get familiarized with the Vietnamese workforce. (end) mam.fs.nfm
