Kuwait's basketball team prepares for ASIAD

KUWAIT, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait national basketball team is currently in the Philippines holding a training camp until September 18, in preparation for 17th Asian Games (ASIAD) to be held in South Korea from September 19 to October 4.
The 2014 Incheon Asian Games is one of strongest continental competitions and will group some of the best teams in Asia, Deputy Head of the Kuwait Basketball Association Khalil Ibrahim Tahir told KUNA in a statement.
Tahir expressed hope that the Kuwaiti champions would make good results in the competitions.
He also pointed out that the basketball team will play in preliminary rounds between September 20-23, and in case of qualifying, the team will compete in the ASIAD in South Korea.
The Kuwaiti team's participation in the Asian Games will be the best preparation for the 14th GCC Basketball Championship due in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, between October 13-21.
A 400-strong Kuwaiti team of athletes and technicians and managers will take part in the 17th Asian Games (ASIAD). (end) ayr.tb.ss
