France condemns bombardment of UN school in Gaza

PARIS, July 30 (KUNA) - France has condemned a strike against a UN school in Gaza where Palestinian civilians were taking refugee because of Israeli military strikes that are now in their fourth week.
At least 16 people are believed to have died in the shelling that the UN is blaming squarely on deliberate Israeli fire.
It is the second attack on a UN facility since the recent Israeli campaign begun and over 1,250 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have died in the attacks on Gaza, many of them women and children.
"France condemns the bombardment which struck a United Nations school in the Jabaliya camp in the Gaza Strip, causing the deaths of at least 16 Palestinians, adding to the intolerable human toll which is getting heavier ceaselessly," a French statement said.
France again urged an immediate ceasefire and said all efforts must converge on this aim. (end) jk.ajs
