EU aids displaced Yemenis with USD 8 million

SANAA, July 25 (KUNA) -- The European Union has allocated USD eight million for aiding civilians who have been relocated in Yemen due to armed conflicts.
A press release issued by the World Food Programme's bureau here said the earmarked fund would be used to secure food for the diplaced and malnourished.
Number of locally relocated civilians has recently increased due to the fighting in Amran north of Sanaa.
Accoridng to official figures, number of the displaced civilians is estimated at 500,000, mostly present in Amran, Saadah, Hajja, Shabwa and Abyan. (end) oz.rk
