Biden discusses Iraq with Erdogan

WASHINGTON, July 4 (KUNA) -- Vice President Joe Biden spoke over the phone with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding the crisis in Iraq and other regional issues.
A statement from the White House, released late on Thursday, said, "The Vice President welcomed the release of some of the Turkish citizens being held hostage by the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL)." The two leaders agreed on, "the importance of supporting lasting security and stability in Iraq and the cooperation of all Iraqآ’s communities." (end) ak.rk
