Ramadan in Kuwait on Sunday - moon-sighting cmte

KUWAIT, June 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's moon-sighting committee announced that Saturday will be the last day of the lunar Hijri month of Sha'aban, and that, therefore, the holy month of Ramadan begins on Sunday.
In their meeting on Friday evening, the committee, headed by the deputy head of the court of cassation Justice Yousif Al-Mutaowaa, confirmed that the crescent had not been sighted.
The committee went on to congratulate His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister, Kuwaiti nationals and residents and the Arab and Islamic worlds on the occasion.
The State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and acting Minister of Justice Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah reiterated these sentiments. (end) hmd.sd
