MADRID, June 16 (KUNA) -- Spanish clubs FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC reached an agreement for the transfer of Croatian international Ivan Rakitic on Monday.
The 26-year-old penned a five-year deal with the Catalan club, with Barcelona B midfielder Denis Fernandez, 20, heading the other way on a two-season long loan.
The deal to bring the Sevilla ex-captain to Camp Nou is reported to be worth around EUR 18 million plus incentives, according to Spanish sports newspaper, As, which added that he had been involved in several disputes with his former club after winning the 2013-14 Europa League.
Rakitic is Barca's second signing after a five-year deal was handed to German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen. (end)
