Merkel wants talks with Russia to continue to resolve Ukraine crisis

BRUSSELS, June 4 (KUNA) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel Wednesday said in Brussels that "we are starting the G7 Summit this evening. The G7 has stuck together well in the past weeks regarding the issue which will be discussed today - Ukraine and Russia." Speaking to reporters ahead of the G7 dinner meeting, she said" we will discuss this topic and other foreign affairs issues today, and we will see, firstly, how we can now support Ukraine after its presidential election; secondly, how to continue the talks with Russia about the necessary actions to take; and thirdly, if all of this does not work out, to signal the possibility of further actions." Tomorrow the G7 will discuss the topics of world economy, climate and energy, she added. (pickup previous) nk.sd
