Kuwait discusses gas imports with Iran

TEHRAN, June 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair on Monday discussed with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh cooperation in the oil sector and prospects of exporting gas to Kuwait.
The meeting was follow-up to the official talks, held on Sunday, between His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, which addressed oil and gas cooperation, the acting undersecretary of the Kuwait Ministry of Oil, Ali bin Sabt, told KUNA in a statement.
The two sides expressed readiness to cooperate on supplying Kuwait with the Iranian gas, he said, adding that they agreed to complete the talks in detail in later meetings, grouping Kuwaiti and Iranian experts.
"It was agreed upon during the meeting that an Iranian delegation would visit Kuwait soon to meet with the concerned officials to discuss all the details on importing the Iranian gas by Kuwait," bin Sabt added. (end) jy.mo.ss
