(With photos) CAIRO, April 22 (KUNA) -- Senior officials of an Arab-African partnership coordination committee are coming together here on Tuesday for an extraordinary meeting under chairmanship of Kuwait's permanent delegate at the Arab League Azeez Al-Dehani.
The meeting will focus on the implementation of resolutions and recommendations adopted during the Third Afro-Arab Summit held in Kuwait in November 2013, as well as His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's initiatives for investment and development in Africa.
It will also discuss preparations for an extraordinary meeting of the committee at the ministerial level due in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa in August.
Addressing the event, Al-Dehani stressed the significance of the meeting as coming following a gathering held in Kuwait in February.
He emphasized that it is necessary to put in place resolutions made during the recent Afro-Arab summit, pointing to His Highness the Amir's African development initiatives which aim to bolster and consolidate cooperation between Arab and African countries.
The Kuwaiti diplomat said His Highness the Amir's initiatives had really embodied the banner of the summit: "Partners in Development and Investment".
Senior officials from all the member states of the Arab-African partnership coordination committee, notably Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Chad and Mauritania, apart from the Arab League and the African Union, are participating in the meeting held at the Cairo-based league. (end) ms.mab.mfm.mt
