By Mohammad Al-Ghazzi

BAGHDAD, April 20 (KUNA) -- Government security forces have taken control of a college northeastern Baghdad on Sunday after the building was targeted with a double attack by gunmen and a suicide bomber.
Up to five Iraqis including two policemen and a senior officer were killed and 15 people, including students and teachers, were wounded in the attack, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior.
A unit of the Iraqi military elite force stormed the building and clashed with a number of gunmen who had burst into the compound earlier and were holding a number of students as hostages. Two of the gunmen were killed and a third was detained.
The dramatic incident started earlier today when the unidentified gunmen burst into the college compound northeastern Baghdad shortly after a suicide bomber blew himself up at its gate.
The gunmen, who opened fire indiscriminately at students of Imam Al-Kathem Faculty, held a number of others and teachers as hostages inside the building.
Policemen sealed off the college faculty, located in Or district, and a large number of security troops were deployed around it. (end) mhg.mhh.rk
