Sunderland beats Chelsea 2-1 in Britain's premier league

LONDON, April 19 (KUNA) -- Sunderland football team dealt a serious blow to giant Chelsea by beating the London club 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
Chelsea scored first in the 12th minute, after an incredible shot from Cameroonian Samuel Eto in the box, converting on a ball from a corner kick.
Sunderland was able to come back five minutes later, with a goal from Connor Wickham in the same area.
In the second half, Chelsea took full control and intensified attacks, but all attempts were thwarted by a superb defense from Sunderland.
At the 82nd minute, Sunderland was given a penalty and was capitalized by Fabio Borini.
Despite increased attacks by Chelsea, Sunderland had two more chances at the goal, but lost them.
In spite of their win, Sunderland remains at the bottom of the premier league with 29 points, while Chelsea's defeat (75 points and second in ranking) means leaders Liverpool can open up a four-point advantage over the second-placed Blues with victory at Norwich tomorrow. (end) mrn.mb
