17 people killed, dozens injured in Syria violence

AMMAN, April 18 (KUNA) -- At least 17 civilians, including five children and two women, were killed and many dozens were injured in various parts of Syria due to ongoing violence.
Car bombs and air raids, carried out by Syrian government forces, targeted Homs, Aleppo, Reef Dimashq and Edlib, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced Friday.
The number of death might go up since some of the causalities were in critical condition, it added.
In Edlib, Der-Ezzor and As-Suwayda, clashes between government and opposition forces took place which ended up in the killing of four members of the Islamic battalions. (end) tk.nfm
