KUWAIT, April 17 (KUNA) -- Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim told reporters on Thursday that he was privy to information on a ratcheting down of the recent strain among some Gulf states.
"We have witnessed today the fruits of the efforts exerted at the Arab Summit," he said, referencing the efforts undertaken by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah during the Arab summit in Kuwait last March where he hosted, among others, Gulf leaders, at which time he tried to smooth over some tension in relations among them.
The Speaker hoped that peace and security would prevail among all GCC countries, saying that the recent tension among them was no more than "a passing summer cloud." (end) sss.ajs
