KUWAIT, April 2 (KUNA) -- Visiting Turkish President Abdullah Gul attended on Wednesday a ceremony for setting the cornerstone for the construction of a marina at the Hilton Hotel site in the suburb of Mangaf, south of Kuwait City.
On site to greet the President was Kuwait''''s Minister of Oil and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Omair.
Also welcoming the President was the CEO of Kuwait Oil Company Hashem Sayyed Hashem who explained to the Turkish guest features of the marina project, aspiring that it would be a further indication of the cooperation of the two countries on joint projects.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish company (STFA) working on the marina project applauded President Gul''''s attending the ceremony and wished for firmer ties between his country and Kuwait.
Accompanying the President today to the site of the marina project was Sheikh Dr. Salem Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, head of the committee welcoming the President to Kuwait and advisor to the Prime Minister of Kuwait. (end) ajs
