KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) -- The International Police Sports Union (USIP) has signed a cooperation protocol with the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) as it looks to regain its seat at the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, said USIP chief Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah.
"This is part of the strategy the USIP is pursuing in its cooperation with international sports federations," he said on the sidelines of ANOC meetings currently being held at the Olympic Council of Asia Headquarters in Kuwait on Monday.
"There are other international bodies that we have already cooperated with and we will be having a meeting with the President of the IOC Thomas Bach in Lausanne (at the IOC HQ)." The meeting will be aimed at regaining the USIP''''s seat at the IOC Executive Board, he explained.
On Kuwait''''s organisation of the high-level Olympic meetings, he said that, "we thank God that Kuwait is the host of these events. It is not unfamiliar to see this happening as Kuwait plays host to many different events on the social, political and sports spectrums." (end) fs.sd
