KUWAIT, March 31 (KUNA) -- Turkish President Abdullah Gul is due to arrive
in Kuwait on Tuesday on a three-day official visit during which he would hold
talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On Sunday, Gul told a visiting delegation of Kuwaiti chief editors in
Turkey that developing relations with Kuwait is a top political priority for
Ankara. "I am a friend to GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries. I always
pushed for strengthening ties with the Council and Kuwait in particular due to
the significance of the relationship for both sides," Gul told the Kuwaiti
delegation.
"This is my third visit to Kuwait as a president since 2007 and it would be
an opportunity to review bilateral relations in light of accelerating
developments, both regionally and internationally.
"It will also be an opportunity to consult with His Highness the Amir
Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on those developments," he noted. (end)
