BRUSSELS, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- The EU Monday said it is in the process of
assessing the judiciary reforms law which was passed by Turkey's parliament on
Saturday.
"This law is of crucial importance for the rule of law in Turkey. In the
past we have expressed our concerns several times about the previous draft law
which would have had an impact on certain impartiality on the Turkish
judiciary," Peter Stano, spokesman for EU enlargement policy, told a news
conference here.
"We are assessing this law which was adopted on Saturday," he said, adding
that since Turkey is an EU candidate country "we will assess the impact of
this adopted law." (end)
