AMMAN, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- The coronavirus and H1N1 led to the death of two
Jordanians, said a statement by the Jordanian Health Ministry on Saturday.
Head of healthcare at the Health Ministry Dr. Bassam Hajjaweh told the
press that the two Jordanians were transferred to hospitals last week with one
contracting the coronavirus and the other the H1N1 flu.
He indicated that the Health Ministry could not identify how the two
contracted the viruses. He stressed that it was paramount to take the
necessary preventative measures to make sure that people would not contract
such viruses, affirming that the Health Ministry would provide the healthcare
for those infected with either the coronavirus or H1N1.
He revealed that there were 25 cases of H1N1 discovered in Jordan during
this winter season with one case pronounced dead.
As for the coronavirus, Hajjaweh noted that the virus was still a mystery
and no remedy in the horizon, adding that 181 cases were discovered around
globe with most cases being from the GCC. Three cases of the coronavirus were
reported in Jordan. (end)
