Kuwait, Iraq sign investment promotion deal

KUWAIT, Dec 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and Iraq have inked a mutual investment promotion and protection agreement and a tourist executive program.
The documents were signed at the concluded meeting of the joint Kuwaiti-Iraqi committee.
The minutes of the second committee meeting regarding navigation at Khawr Abd Allah (Abd Allah Estuary), and of the third session of the joint ministerial committee were also signed.
The meeting was co-chaired by Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti minister spoke highly of the positive development of Kuwaiti-Iraqi relations in various fields for the common interest of both countries and their peoples.
They discussed several issues and topics of mutual interest and ways and means of promoting and developing Kuwaiti-Iraqi cooperative relations in various domains, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
The talks were also attended by several Kuwaiti officials, mainly Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khaled Al-Jarallah, and members of the visiting Iraqi side.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled then held a luncheon in honor of the visiting Iraqi foreign minister and his accompanying delegation. (end) mt KUNA 161800 Dec 13NNNN
