SHARM El-SHEIKH, Egypt, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Members of the General Assembly of
the Arab Federation of Tennis nominated Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah
Al-Sabah as President of the federation for a third term.
At the end of the General Assemby's meeting, President of Kuwait Tennis
Federation Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber expressed his appreciation for this
nomination. Tennis in the Arab world, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber told KUNA, needs
improvement at all levels to ensure the players get qualifications in
international games.
He noted that the federation should work closely and constantly with other
regional and international federations to achieve the desired goals to enhance
the presence of this game in Arab countries.
He added more tournaments, such as the ones hosted by Qatar, Dubai and
Morocco, should be held and more training camps should be set up to improve
the performance of players.
On his part, Vice-President of the federation and President of the National
Olympic Committee of Tunisia Mehrez Boussayene said that the nomination of
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber as chief of the federation would enable the game to grow
and improve, on Arab and regional levels. (end)
