Scores of Iraqis killed, injured in armed attacks

BAGHDAD, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- Twenty people were killed and 30 others injured in a series of armed attacks in various parts of Iraq on Friday.
Among the deadliest attacks was a roadside bomb attack which killed eight people and wounded 12 others near a shop selling soft drinks and juices in Al-Dora district, south Baghdad.
An insider of Baghdad Operations Command told KUNA that the explosion caused serious damage to shops and nearby area.
Two civilians were killed in Mahdia area in Al-Dora as a result of an improvised bomb blast.
In the northern part of the capital, one civilian was killed and another wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in Raghba Ekhwatna area in Al-Aazamia district.
Two Iraqi from the Ministry of Culture were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded targeting a vehicle which belongs to the ministry which was carrying them in the neighborhood of Camp Sara in central Baghdad.
Unidentified gunmen targeted Interior Ministry Lieutenant Colonel Nashaat Abdulkarim, who is also the Director of General Hussein Al-Shammari, Director of Economy and Organized Crime in the Interior Ministry.
In Abu Ghraib west of Baghdad, a civilian was killed and two others were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near one of the mosques in the area. (end) mhg.mb KUNA 230045 Nov 13NNNN
