KUWAIT, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- The democratic atmosphere in Kuwait is very
suitable for political, economic, and social development, said Speaker of the
National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim here Saturday.
In a statement celebrating the International Day of Democracy on September
15th, Al-Ghanim said that Kuwait's keenness on commemorating this global event
was to showcase the GCC state's eagerness to spread notions of democracy and
freedom.
Speaker Al-Ghanim also indicated that cooperation amongst judicial,
executive, and legislative authorities in Kuwait was a key factor in the
success of democracy in his country.
In 2007, the United Nations General Assembly resolved to observe September
15th as the International Day of Democracy with the purpose of promoting and
upholding the principles of democracy and invited all member states and
