KUWAIT, July 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Republic of Chile Reem
Al-Khaled presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Peru,
Ollanta Humala, as non-resident plenipotentiary Ambassador of Peru.
The Ambassador, in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), stressed on
good and developing relations between Kuwait and Peru, in light of signed
joint agreements of cooperation in various fields binding the two.
The ambassador added that relations are expected to develop positively,
especially after the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister
Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah to Lima in October 2012, to participate in the
Third Summit between South American nations and Arab countries (ASPA) as
representative of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait.
She pointed to the opening of the Embassy of Peru in Kuwait in 2011, and
the recent introduction of an ambassador there, stating that it would create
new fields for cooperation between both countries.
The credentials ceremony was held last Friday at the presidential palace in
the Peruvian capital of Lima, in the attendance of Peru's Minister for Foreign
Affairs Eda Rivas and Director of Protocol at Peru's Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Ambassador Alfredo Castro.
The Peruvian President welcomed Ambassador Al-Khaled during the meeting
that followed the credentials' presentation and looked forward to
strengthening Peruvian-Kuwaiti relations in all fields, according to the
