CAIRO, July 4 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al-Araby on Thursday congratulated the Egyptian people on what he described as a "historic achievement which aims to overcome the crisis and chaos experienced by the country over the last period".
"I'm sure that what is happening in Egypt nowadays is a critical moment for a future created by the free will of the Egyptian people," he said in a statement.
He said the Egyptian people, who are the source of authorities, insisted on the principles of the January 25 Revolution, freedom, social justice and genuine democracy based on everyone's political participation without any exclusion or marginalization.
Al-Araby appreciated the Egyptian army and its commanders for responding to the people's calls and favoring the country's supreme national interest.
He also wished Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour best of luck in his new mission and responsibility, urging all national political groups and forces to work together to launch a roadmap within a specific schedule.
The Egyptian army on Wednesday removed President Mohamed Morsi from power, suspended the country's constitution and transferred the president's power to the Chairman of the Constitutional Court. (end) mfm.jz.mt KUNA 042048 Jul 13NNNN
