KUWAIT, June 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Al-Najat Charitable Society announced
the launch of "Kuwait's Cultural Center" project in Albania, which aims to
inform the Muslim people of Albania about the Islamic culture, the Arabic
language and the traditions of the Islamic peoples.
"The project will be an exquisite initiative in this Muslim-majority
country, which has recently returned to Islam," the society's deputy director,
Jaber Al-Wenda told KUNA after his return from Albania.
Al-Najat Society hopes that the center will be an institution for
propagating the Islamic civilization in the Balkans, which is considered the
gateway of the East to the European continent, he said, adding that the
society suggested that the center be supported by philanthropists in the
creation and preparation of this wonderful Islamic body.
Al-Najat Society was keen on establishing more than 100 mosques in the
Balkans, since mosques are the first welcoming institutions for Muslims in
Albania, noted Al-Wenda, praising the efforts exerted by the Kuwaiti Embassy
in Albania to support and facilitate the Kuwaiti charitable bodies in the
Balkans. (end)
