SANAA, June 14 (KUNA) -- Armed tribesmen bombed an oil pipeline in the
northeast Maareb province, the second attack on the pipeline in two days, a
security source said Friday.
The gunmen detonated an explosive device they placed near the pipeline
causing big explosion, the source told KUNA.
The explosion took place an hour after engineers repaired power grids in
Maareb thus ending five-day blackout, he said.
Yemeni oil exports declined in the first four months this year to eight
million barrels against 10 million barrels in the same period last year.
Yemen produce 300,000 barrels of oil per day. Oil revenues make up 70
percent of the country's budget and contribute to 30 percent of GDP. (end)
