(With photos) KUWAIT, June 5 (KUNA) -- The humanitarian role played by Kuwait goes beyond borders and it is felt by those who are in need, said chair of the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) Edward Gnehm here Tuesday.
After meeting with Director General of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Barjas Al-Barjas, Gnehm told the press that KRCS' efforts were felt around the globe.
Gnehm, also former US Ambassador to Kuwait, affirmed that the humanitarian services provided by KRCS were indeed helpful for the needy, adding that the society was considered amongst the elite within humanitarian aid.
On his part, President of ANERA Dr. William Corcoran said that the meeting with Al-Barjas focused on means to bolster cooperation between ANERA and KRCS.
He said that ANERA, as group, was keen on efforts to rebuild infrastructure at war-torn or natural disasters-stricken regions as well as humanitarian work aimed at helping the poor.
Al-Barjas said, on his part, that KRCS was willing to cooperate with ARENA to achieve the mutual goal of helping the needy, stressing that the society would continue its relief aid mission worldwide. (end) akw.gta KUNA 051822 Jun 13NNNN
