Bahrain condemns Iran''s interference in internal affairs

MANAMA, May 18 (KUNA) -- Bahrain Saturday rejected an Iranian foreign ministry official's statement over the Kingdom and considered it an "unacceptable" intereference in Manama's internal affairs.
"The Iranian behavior is unprecedented in the relations between countries nor it is normal in regional and international relations," foreign ministry undersecretary for regional affairs and the GCC Hamad Al-Amer said in a statement quoted by official news agency (BNA).
He was reacting to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who was quoted by Iranian media as warning against reported storming by Bahrain security forces of houses of clerics.
The Iranian actions are blatant violations of principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect of national sovereignty, said Al-Amer, as well as principles of Islam.
Al-Amer expressed regret that senior Iranian officials continued to unleash "dangerous threats, political, religious and media provocations, which reflected Iranian expansionist greeds in an Arab country member in the UN, the Arab League, the GCC, OIC and Non-Aligned Movement."
