CAIRO, May 16 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi met on
Thursday with, Fadhil Jawad, the Former Legal Advisor to Iraq's Prime Minister
Nouri Al-Maliki, who was appointed last March by the League's council as the
League's Assistant Secretary General.
Iraq's Representative in the Arab League Ambassador Qais Al-Azawi said that
the meeting between the two witnessed Jawad's assuming the new post, for the
first time in more than 20 years.
Al-Azawi added that Jawad's new post reflected on Iraq's resumption of high
ranking posts in the League, an indication that Iraq has returned to play a
bigger role and improve Arab joint work. (end)
