Arab Parliament urges int''l organizations to rescue Al-Aqsa mosque

CAIRO, May 11 (KUNA) -- Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed Al-Jarwan Al-Shamisi called on Saturday the United Nations (UN), Arab League, and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take immediate and urgent action to rescue Al-Aqsa mosque.
The continuation of Israeli authorities' forces to storm Al-Aqsa mosque, terrorize peaceful worshipers, reinforce restrictions on praying and worshiping, conduct excavation works underneath the mosque and around its vicinity to undermine its staff is a violation to the provisions of the international law, and the Geneva Convention of 1949, as well as rules and regulations of the international humanitarian law, Al-Jarwan said in a statement.
He mentioned that such shameful acts require all countries, represented by the UN, Arab League, OIC, and the rest of international organizations concerned, to take urgent action to stop the escalated Zionist hostility on Al-Aqsa mosque and other Palestinian lands.
Furthermore, Al-Jarwan called the Arab League and OIC to urge UN Security Council (UNSC) to hold a session as soon as possible in order to take necessary measures and procedures, to provide international security for the city of Jerusalem, maintain its Arabic identity, and prevent Judaizing it by the Israeli authorities.
