(with photo) ISTANBUL, April 24 (KUNA) -- Upcoming visit by His Highness the Amir (of Kuwait) Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Turkey due next week would constitute major "shift in the course of the Turkish-Kuwaiti relations," affirmed a prominent expert.
Strategy expert Omer Kush said in a statement to KUNA that the scheduled visit would be of special significance due to current circumstances prevailing in the region, and would crown a series of previous visits by Kuwaiti and Turkish officials to the two countries.
Kush indicated that Kuwaiti and Turkish leaders, namely HH the Amir and the president, Abdullah Gul, would tackle many long-shelved files during the visit.
The visit comes on heels of the conference for "friends of Syria," which was hosted by Turkey, and coincides with escalation in the full-scale war waged by the Syrian regime against its people, mounting sectarian and political discords and struggles in Iraq. "Therefore, the visit of HH the Amir is particularly political," Kush opined in the statement to Kuwait News Agency.
The Syrian issue will dominate HH the Amir's talks with the Turkish officials, Kush added, noting the influential role of Kuwait and Ankara on the Syrian arena, namely their support for the Syrian people and their role in the efforts to resolve the crisis.
Moreover, the visit coincides with rapid development on the regional arena, namely with regard of the conditions in Iraq, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Iranian nuclear file.
Kuwaiti-Turkish relations have been boosted and Kuwaiti investors have been noticeably lured into the Turkish market, namely the real-estate sector.
Kush affirmed desire of the ruling Justice and Development Party to enhance level of relations ad cooperation with Kuwait. (end) ta.rk KUNA 241235 Apr 13NNNN
