Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania Najeeb Al-Bader during his meeting with President of Al-Irfan Society
SARAJEVO, April 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania Najeeb Al-Bader
met with Abdulsamad Sheeho, President of Al-Irfan Society, at the Embassy's
headquarters in Tirana on Monday.
Ambassador Al-Bader told KUNA that during the meeting, he had handed to the
Albanian charity foundation a contribution of EUR 301,000 from Kuwait's Jamiat
Ihya at-Turath al-Islami (Revival of Islamic Heritage Society, RIHS) to
support a number of projects related to care for orphans.
Furthermore, he mentioned that this contribution is aimed at humanitarian
and charitable projects that target the whole of Albania - not only Tirana.
These contributions stem from Kuwait's belief in supporting vulnerable
communities, and its efforts aimed at easing the suffering of disadvantaged
people through meeting their necessary needs, he added.
Moreover, Al-Bader praised the efforts and contributions of Kuwaiti state
and civil society institutions, including the Ministry of Awqaf, or
Endowments, and Islamic Affairs, Bait Al-Zakat (The House of Alms) and
benefactors and charitable organisations that have aided helped the expansion
of cultural and social cooperation with Albania.
Sheeho, for his part, expressed the gratitude of the Albanian people for
the contributions made in support of their country's cultural and development
projects, particularly by the Kuwaiti charity, which provides care to around 2,
500 orphans in Albania. (end)
