KUWAIT, April 16 (KUNA) -- The management of Kuwait National Petroleum
Company (KNPC) has clinched "a mutually acceptable deal" with the company's
trade union to avert the workers' plan for total strike tomorrow, KNPC
Chairman and Managing Director Fahed Salem Al-Ajmi announced Tuesday evening.
"During the talks held here today, the trade union leaders affirmed
keenness on the national interests and desire to maintain the constructive
dialogue with the management on the worker demands," he said in a statement to
KUNA following the meeting.
Earlier today KNPC Public Relations Director and spokesperson Mohammad
Al-Ajmi said the management has "a comprehensive plan" to ensure normal
operation at all facilities of the company countrywide.
The plan includes an emergency procedures in case of strike in order to
ensure sufficient supplies to the petrol stations, he noted.
KNPC is a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). (pickup
