PARIS, March 25 (KUNA) -- French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will meet
here Tuesday with his Kovovar counterpart, Enver Hoxaj to discuss bilateral
ties but particularly the evolution of Kosovo's relations in the region,
especially with Serbia.
Relations between Kosovo and Serbia have been troubled since the Muslim
republic broke away from Serbia in a bitter conflict that led to independence
in 2008.
Despite the presence of a European peace-keeping force, there are regular
incidents on the Serb-Kosovo border, mainly involving civil issues.
The European Union is brokering a reconciliation process and a dialogue
under the auspices of European Foreign Policy chief, Catherine Ashton.
Fabius and Hoxaj will be reviewing this "dialogue" and French officials at
the Foreign Ministry here said that "today there are positive developments."
While Kosovo has only been recognized by about half of the international
community, as only 101 States out of 193 have given it "diplomatic
recognition", France says it will discuss on Tuesday "the pursuit of the
integration of Kosovo into the international community." (End)
