BRUSSELS, March 24 (KUNA) -- Belgian Interior Minister Joelle Milquet has
formed a body to look into the problem of Belgian youngsters going to Syria to
fight there, Belgian media reported Sunday.
The body, known as task force, will meet on Monday and include members of
the counterterrorism unit, intelligence services, the judicial authorities,
and the police.
Belgian media have been reporting recently that Belgian Muslim converts are
travelling to Syria to take part in the war. It is believed that 50 to 80
young Belgians are fighting in Syria.
The Task Force will try to find out how it can be avoided that even more
youngsters join the Syrian war and how the youths can be brought back to
Belgium. (end)
