Kuwaiti PM: relationship between Iraq, Kuwait too strong

KUWAIT, March 14 (KUNA) -- HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said that the relationship between Kuwait and Iraq was "too strong to be affected by a number of individuals", as he expressed hope the Iraqi government would be up to the task of protecting border posts between both countries.
The Kuwaiti prime minister made the comment on Thursday, after being asked about a recent incident whereby a number of Iraqis attacked a joint border post with Kuwait. Sheikh Jaber was attending a luncheon hosted by the Governor of The Capital Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in honour of Kuwaiti cabinet and parliament officials.
Over the resignation tendered by Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, he said "We do not accept the resignation of minister Al-Hajraf, and the matter is in the hands of HH the Amir as it will be presented to him on Sunday". (end) hrz.sd KUNA 141926 Mar 13NNNN
