KUWAIT, March 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's parliamentary foreign affairs committee
announced that the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah
Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Sabah was invited to attend the committee's meeting next
week to discuss the recent incidents on the borders with Iraq.
The Iraqi side should shoulder their responsibilities in maintaining
security along the borders between the two countries, as this has a profound
effect on relations and on supporting the efforts of the U.N. team, tasked
with the maintenance of border markers between Kuwait and Iraq, committee
Chairman MP Saleh Ashour told reporters.
He added that there are three border points that have not yet been
maintained "and the Iraqi side should secure and protect the U.N. team, until
they to finish this task in accordance with U.N. resolutions". (end)
