CAIRO, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Egypt's Administrative Judiciary Court on Tuesday
rejected a case calling for rescinding the Egyptian-Israeli peace agreement
due to incompetence.
Justifying its ruling, the court said the Camp David peace accord falls in
the purview of the president of the republic as a sovereign act.
The litigants called for abolishing the peace agreement on the basis that
Israel violated the deal and even other international conventions by
desecrating Islamic sanctuaries in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In another case, the court made a verdict demanding the Egyptian government
to take all necessary measures to shut down and destroy "illegal" tunnels
between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
The court said that the border tunnels pose as a serious menace to Egypt's
internal and national security. (end)
