SANAA, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- At least three suspected Al-Qaeda militants were
killed in a US air strike in northern Yemen on Tuesday, a tribal source said.
US reconnaissance planes carried out three raids on Al-Hajla area in the
province of Al-Jouf destrying two vehicles suspected to be used by Al-Qaeda
militants, the source, requesting anonymity, told KUNA.
At least three persons were killed and others were injured, said the
source, and added that the two vehicles were destroyed completely.
Press reports suggested earlier today that Al-Qaeda in the Arabian
Peninsula Organization's second man, Saeed Al-Shehri, died of his wounds he
sustained in an operation carried out by Yemeni and American forces last month.
US drone attacks intensified over the past three days, killing 11 Al-Qaeda
militants. (end)
